This summer, Open Hands is taking a moment to highlight our volunteers and focus on why they support Open Hands with their time and finances. Stick with us over the next four weeks to meet your fellow volunteers, hear what inspires them to donate to Open Hands, and join us in raising $15,000 from our volunteers! First, meet Karen Wu. Karen practices in the area of non-profit law, and has supported Open Hands as a volunteer and donor since 2009.
Karen donates to Open Hands because our work embodies the essence of the practice of law: the ability to make real meaningful change in our world. Through Open Hands, she uses her law degree for the restoration of God's creation. "Legal work is about more than just technical issues," she says, "It is about life."
